Game, Animation, & Simulation Design

Artist Biography: Tristan Griffith was born in central Arkansas in 1998. They took interest in art at a young age, and, through the support of their parents, were able to experiment with media during middle school and high school. Throughout high school they would compete at Arkansas Young Artist Association in on-site competitions and gallery competitions, winning runner up for their charcoal work. Tristan graduated from Conway high school and progressed tobn found a passion for portraiture and has continued to develop their own style. During their time at college Tristan was the victim of two separate cases of rape, two family deaths, and fought with depression and dysmorphia. These experiences have slowly been worked into the art Tristan produces as they become more comfortable with the topic and the changes it has made to their life.

On occasion, Tristan would also work on animation. While working primarily in 3D for speed, hand-drawn animation was also something they would spend time with. The animations would often contain more serious subject matter when 2D, however, Tristan always enjoyed a break with something sillier and more whimsical.

DuTristan often uses portraiture to escape into a world and ignore past events. Drawing friends and people they loved to take their mind away. Tristan now continues to work primarily digitally as they try to express past events but continue to experiment with pastels and charcoal. Presently they have begun exploring working in oil paints in hopes to bring a new sense of depth to their art.
